Always stay on the path
The 153 km-long Weinviertel Way of St James runs from Drasenhofen to Krems an der Donau. To ensure that pilgrims follow the correct route, there is continuous signposting along the entire route. Please note that, like all Way of St James routes, the route is signposted only in the direction of Santiago de Compostela, i.e. from Drasenhofen to Krems.
Different types of signposts
To help you find your way, look out for the three different types of sign:
- Wayfinding signs for the Weinviertel Way of St James, Mikulov – Krems an der Donau section (the yellow colour makes them stand out very clearly)
- Hiking signposts with distance information at prominent locations
- Small plaque (Take particular care here so as not to miss a sign!)
Red-white-red long-distance hiking trail markings
In woodland areas, it is advisable to follow the red-white-red long-distance hiking trail markings as well as the Way of St James markings.
For better orientation, we recommend the ‘Jakobswegweiser Weinviertel’ travel guide, which includes detailed maps!
