Collecting stamps
At the churches along the Weinviertel Way of St James, you will find stamps that you can collect in your pilgrim’s passport. Each church is not only a stop on your journey, but also a place for meeting others, for reflection and for taking a moment to pause.
In addition, a prayer book is available in every church. Spending time in one of the many churches along the route can encourage you to enjoy a moment of peace, say a prayer or gather your thoughts. The prayer books invite you to write down your personal concerns, hopes and thoughts. A brief greeting, a thank you for support received, a request for strength and guidance, or a prayer for a loved one all have their place within them.
In this way, the prayer books become a symbol of solidarity amongst the pilgrims and with the people of the parishes along the route. May the entries bear witness to the many paths that people, with their worries, joys and hopes, walk on the Way of St James.
