The bike route starts in Mistelbach at the parking lot of the MAMUZ Museum Mistelbach. You can reach Mistelbach by train or bus. A 15-minute walk across the main square, past City Hall, will then take you to the starting point. In Mistelbach, you can visit the“MAMUZ Museum Mistelbach” and the“Nitsch Museum.” From Mistelbach, cycle on to Siebenhirten. The Siebenhirtnerhof offers a place to grab a bite to eat. You should also plan a visit to the alpaca farm. The route continues to Hörersdorf, where you’ll find a drinking fountain at the Weinviertel rest stop in the wine cellar lane.
Continue along the “Sylvaner” Wine Cycle Trail to the Frättingsdorf train station. There, turn left toward Frättingsdorf. The Rivanerstüberl, a traditional wine tavern on the wine cellar lane, is a great spot for a short break. The Mistelquelle memorial stone, which commemorates the source of the Mistel River, is a must-see attraction in Frättingsdorf. There you’ll also find the artwork “Tausammler.”
From Frättingsdorf, the bike tour continues along bike paths No. 916 and No. 5 through Hagenberg and Altmanns to Asparn an der Zaya, where you’ll pass by MAMUZ Schloss Asparn.
From Asparn, the route continues along the “Blauburger” Wine Cycle Path to Hüttendorf. Here you’ll find another drinking fountain at the “Blume am Paukerspitz.” Finally, you’ll cycle from Hüttendorf back to the starting point in Mistelbach. You can round out your bike tour with a wide variety of regional delicacies at “Restaurant Diesner” or with a selection from the gourmet menu at“Hotel-Restaurant Zur Linde.” In addition to specialty coffees, Café Harlekin serves a wide variety of regional dishes and offers the perfect atmosphere to comfortably round off a day of cycling. However, for those who prefer a typical Weinviertel experience, we recommend a visit to the “Bauernarnt” wine tavern, located not far from the start/finish point of the bike loop.
The parking lot for the MAMUZ Museum in Mistelbach is located 300 meters away. You can park your car there for free.
By car, you can reach Mistelbach via the A5 highway. If you're coming from Retz or Laa, take Federal Highway B46. From Hollabrunn, Federal Highway B40 leads to Mistelbach.
Mistelbach is accessible by both train and bus.
There are many connections available from Laa, Vienna, and Wolkersdorf.
