Kellergasse Ollersdorf
Cellar-lined roads
Description
The enchanting wine cellar lane at the end of the village of Ollersdorf is located in the south-eastern Weinviertel. With over 300 cellar tubes, it is the largest of its kind in the district of Gänserndorf. The long hollow path reveals the ancient limestone and sand layers of the primeval sea that lay here 12 million years ago. Today, the old cellars surrounded by fertile vineyards tell a centuries-old story of the local wine tradition.
The unmistakable charm of the Weinviertel wine cellar lanes can be experienced most impressively on a guided tour.
This provides fascinating insights into their history and the former significance of these special places.
