Fehlmann Weine

Fehlmann Weine is a traditional winery that has emphasized the historical importance of the region for several hundred years. Although the owners, Hermann and Ingrid Fehlmann, own vineyards themselves, these are leased to other Falkenstein winegrowers. The Fehlmanns do not vinify themselves, but follow the French concept of the Burgundian and Bordeaux negociants. They selectively buy excellent batches from local winegrowers and then vinify them according to their own principles. The range includes classic draught wines and fine wines from the best vineyards in Falkenstein, such as Rosenberg, Rabenstein and Ekartsberg. In addition to two classic DAC Veltliners, Fehlmann Weine also offers Pinot Blanc and Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Muscat. These wines are consistently fresh and fruity, easy to digest and full of vitality. Some red wines complete the range. The highlight of the range, however, is the Veltliner for mountain dishes. This wine is matured in stainless steel tanks to emphasize its varietal character. A few months on the lees provide additional density and complexity and deliver a wine that adds a full-bodied and elegant component to the Fehlmanns' range.
