Weingut Girsch

Description

The Girsch winery is a family business that has been dedicated to viticulture for five generations. Although the stony sandy soils usually produce low yields, the wines produced are of outstanding quality. In an earth cellar over 200 years old, formerly owned by Prince Liechtenstein, the hand-picked grapes from the estate's own vineyards are carefully crushed and pressed. The cider is then fermented in the wine cellar and can mature into a fine wine under ideal storage conditions at around 10°C. The result of these quality-oriented efforts are pleasantly dry, fruity wines that are typical of the vintage. Wine sales and tastings take place all day on Saturdays, while advance bookings are required on weekdays.
