Description

Dürnkrut is a market town with 2,257 inhabitants (as of 01.01.2011) and is located on the eastern edge of the Weinviertel region, surrounded by beautiful vineyards, fields, cycle paths and the March-Au river, on the border with Slovakia. The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1160 and today serves as a municipal administration center with a castle museum. The registry office is also located in the castle; a small and a large wedding hall are available for weddings. Afterwards, the Dürnkrut event center - the Bernsteinhalle - can be rented for the wedding celebration. It can also be booked for birthdays, trade fairs, cabarets, lectures, exhibitions, balls, club events, etc. For smaller events, the gallery on the 1st floor of the Bernsteinhalle and the Bernsteinzimmer can be rented separately (www.duernkrut.gv.at).
