Puzzle fun for young and old
Lisa's puzzle trail offers an exciting way to explore the beautiful and historic Thern in the municipality of Heldenberg. The circular trail, which is accessible all year round, is suitable for all ages and is particularly popular with hikers and families with children.
At the 6th puzzle station, you can then decide whether you want to do an additional loop of 1429 steps on the "tut gut Schritte Weg" for your health.
This family-friendly loop trail is 3.5 kilometers long and begins in the village of Unterthern, near the old apple tree in front of the Schmid family’s cellar. From there, the themed trail takes you through the adjacent wooded area and—as you’d expect in the Weinviertel—right through idyllic vineyards before looping back to the starting point.
Along the route, you’ll need to solve 12 tricky riddles at a total of 6 stations and enter the corresponding letters in Lisa’s riddle flyer, which is available at the start of the hike. Once you’ve solved all the puzzles, you can drop your completed flyer into the designated mailbox upon your return. At the end of each year, great prizes will be raffled off among all submitted, correctly and completely filled-out puzzle sheets. So it’s definitely worth participating!
The Story Behind It
Lisa, a guest at the Huber Adventure Farm, spent many years enjoying exciting and relaxing vacations in Unterthern with her mom and grandma. In 2017, during one of her stays, the girl was inspired to get creative. This led to a joint effort to create the puzzle trail named after her.
