- Route description The starting point of this cross-border route is Wilfersdorf. Here, at the Liechtenstein Castle Wilfersdorf, you first follow in the footsteps of the Liechtenstein family. Your physical well-being is also well taken care of, as in the castle cellar a cozy traditional wine tavern (Heuriger) and a wine shop are set up, where homemade specialties await you. From Wilfersdorf, the route leads through flat terrain to Prinzendorf, Hauskirchen, and further to Neusiedl an der Zaya. From here, the route continues through hilly terrain. From Neusiedl, you cycle to Altlichtenwarth and then past the Mühlberg oil field. Shortly before Reintal, a rest is recommended at the “Dreiländerblick” viewpoint. Then you proceed to Reintal and cross the border into the Czech Republic. Here, the cycling route takes you along the park area of Valtice (Feldsberg) and Lednice (Eisgrub), which is a registered UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site. An individual extension of the route to Valtice (Feldsberg) and Lednice (Eisgrub) brings you even closer to the footprints of the Liechtenstein family and their representative castles. The route then continues to Schrattenberg. On your way, you cycle past picturesque vineyards to Herrnbaumgarten. Here, it is worth enjoying the ambiance of the cellar lanes. You should also visit the “s’Presshaus” gallery and the “Nonseum”. After that, the route continues to Poysdorf. In the “city of wine,” you can explore the Vino Versum Poysdorf and many cellar lanes. From here, you cycle back to the starting point in Wilfersdorf via Walterskirchen and Ebersdorf an der Zaya.
- Getting there Wilfersdorf is located directly on federal road “B7” and is very easily accessible by car.
- Public transport There are bus connections to Wilfersdorf from Mistelbach or from Zistersdorf.
