Description

The north-south axis through the country for connoisseurs

Unlimited cycling pleasure full of enjoyment. EuroVelo 9 is lined with picturesque vineyards, typical wine taverns, traditional wine cellar lanes and historic towns. 227 kilometers of EuroVelo 9 first run from the Czech town of Breclav (Lundenburg) through the Weinviertel(Breclav to Vienna section), through Vienna and its magnificent Ringstrasse with the town hall, Burgtheater, parliament, Hofburg and State Opera. The 89 kilometers from Breclav to Vienna can be comfortably cycled in two days or in one day (good train connections).
From Vienna, you cycle through the Vienna Woods, past wine taverns and through the Thermenregion to Wiener Neustadt(Thermenregion Vienna Woods Cycle Path along the Wiener Neustadt Canal - alternatively the Triestingau Cycle Path). From Wiener Neustadt, EuroVelo 9 in the Vienna Alps is mostly flat. The Linsberg Asia thermal spa in Bad Erlach invites you to relax. The route is a little more challenging in the Wechsel region as far as Mönichkirchen(Wiener Neustadt to Mönichkirchen section), where a magnificent view awaits.
