The path leads through the forest up to the St. Benedikt lookout point. You should definitely not miss out on the view from the Europawarte St. Benedikt!
The path leads to the St. Benedikt Observatory. This is located on the Schafberg near Waitzendorf on the border with the Waldviertel, 471 m above sea level. The observation tower was built in 1980 to mark the 1500th anniversary of St. Benedict, the patron saint of Europe. It is the visible symbol of the community of the peoples of Europe. 112 steps lead up to the viewing platform, where a 6-metre-high cross rises into the sky. The total height of the St. Benedikt Observatory is 26 meters.
