The trail leads you along the vineyards on a dirt road to the memorial stone, where you can take a short break.
It was here on August 26, 1278, that Ottokar of Bohemia and Rodlof of Habsburg clashed. You’ll find a commemorative plaque where you can learn more about this medieval battle.
The trail then takes you back along the same stretch to the “Gießhübl.” From there, continue on to the idyllic sunken path, which leads you back into the village of Jedenspeigen and past the wine cellars to the castle.
Parking is available at the parking lot near Jedenspeigen Castle or in the town center near the municipal office.
Coming from Vienna, take the B8 federal highway toward Gänserndorf. Drive to Angern/March (just before the Slovakian border) and switch there to the B49, which will take you directly to Jedenspeig.
