Dampfradweg

Since this is a dedicated bike path that does not share the road with other traffic, it is particularly child-friendly. Be careful when crossing the street!

The “Steam Cycle Route” between Leopoldsdorf in the Marchfeld, Breitstetten, and Orth on the Danube runs southward along the former railroad right-of-way. It is a family-friendly bike path that stays away from road traffic and involves very little elevation gain. The Dampfradweg connects the Marchfeld Canal Bike Route with the Danube cycle path. In Breitstetten, visitors are invited to explore the Steam Engine Museum. You can also visit the Danube Floodplains National Park and Orth Castle.

The bike path runs along a renovated, paved former railroad right-of-way and has virtually no elevation gain.
