Wallfahrtskirche Maria Oberleis

The parish and pilgrimage church of Maria Oberleis is dedicated to St. Mauritius and the patron saint "Mary Queen of Heaven". The Marian patronage comes from the original pilgrimage church on the plateau of the Oberleis mountain, which had to be demolished in 1787 by order of Emperor Joseph II, and was transferred to the existing parish church of St. Mauritius. The statue of grace on the pillar in the middle of the apse is also from the original pilgrimage church on the mountain. Old views still show both churches.

Today's Maria Oberleis church is located on the Weinviertel Way of St. James and invites pilgrims, hikers and visitors to linger and pray every day.
