Stockerau Parish Church

Church

Description

The Stockerau Parish Church has the highest church tower in Lower Austria.

The church is dedicated to St. Stephen and was built in 1777/78. A few years before that (1722 to 1725) the church tower had been added to the old parish church.

At 88 m, it is the highest church tower in Lower Austria. As you approach Stockerau, the church tower welcomes you from afar as the first structure you see. The tower dominates the west facade of the church. It was built by Franz Jänkel and is free-standing on three sides.

Public arrival is easily accessible by train or bus.
