Schaugarten "Wilde Wiese", Familie Mahr

The Mahr family's 2,200 m² garden is located in the middle of Marchfeld. The former wasteland was purchased in 2005 and lovingly transformed into a paradise for bees and children - but: the show garden is far from finished, as it adapts to the knowledge and skills of its owners and is constantly changing.
Brigitte Mahr is a passionate kindergarten teacher. In her free time, she invites groups of children to come and get to know a piece of nature in her garden. There is a shrub house and a sand pit, everything here has been created with children in mind and without great expense. Helmuth Mahr is an artist. He creates collages and sculptures from old iron, driftwood, glass and other found objects. While the former horse stable is used as a studio, the garden provides the ideal exhibition space.
