Pfarrkirche Zemling

Church

Description

The parish church of Zemling, once an important place of pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary between 1680 and 1830, is an impressive example of Baroque architecture. It was built around 1760 and its core is the medieval castle chapel. The church, which today bears the name 'Maria Heimsuchung', is located in the cadastral parish of Hohenwarth-Mühlbach. In the immediate vicinity of the church is the Berger Inn, a family-run business known for its hospitality. The surrounding villages also offer numerous opportunities to visit local winegrowers and taste the region's wines. The Zemling parish church and its surroundings thus offer a fascinating blend of historical architecture, local gastronomy and wine culture.
