Museum für Dorfkultur in Grossengersdorf

Museum

Description

In the former village mill of Großengersdorf, interested visitors will find a variety of exhibits that offer insights into the long-gone world of life and work of our ancestors.

You will learn how laborious the cultivation of the vineyards was in earlier times, when the vineyards were still worked by hand.

The extensive collection of tools, objects and early machinery gives you an idea of what it was really like in the "good old days", when most activities were carried out without machines.

The small businesses used to produce all the everyday items needed to provide for the village community. Workshops ranging from master truss makers to carpenters provide an insight into the trades and tempt visitors to get hands-on and try things out.

An old school classroom, a tavern and a grocer's shop as well as furnishings and everyday objects round off the look into the past.
