Description
If a museum that is not a school is a school that is not a museum, then it is the Michelstettner School.
A journey through school history, from ancient times to the present day! Lessons like in the old days! In the Michelstettner School, you can actively take part in 5 historical classes: writing and reading in Kurrent script, calculating with the abacus, digging in the bone box, identifying animals or experiencing a physics room from the 1930s. You can even meet Maria Theresa in a Latin class.
Guests sit on ancient school desks in front of their exam papers and take the "Michelstettner Matura". A strict teacher supervises. She doesn't even notice that people are cheating. The tasks are soon completed. Everyone has passed and receives a "Matura certificate".
At the end of the tour, you can buy school rules to memorize or a slate with a stylus for practicing and much more in the store.
A guided tour, which is possible for groups of 8 or more, lasts 1 hour (without Matura) or 2 hours (with Matura).
A tour is also possible without a guided tour.
This results in different prices for a visit to the Michelstettner School:
- Visit without a guided tour:
8,- per person / 3,- per child (6-18 years) - Guided tour:
12,- per person / 6,- per child (6-18 years) - Guided tour with Matura:
16,- per person / 9,- per child (6-18 years) - School classes can book a "school lesson with writing workshop".
The price here is 9,- per child.
There is a bus parking lot on the village square - a 5-minute walk from the school.
