Liebesallee mit Friedenspavillon
Scenic lookout
Description
Liebesallee was initiated in 2004 by former mayor Christian Resch and was part of the "Eco-belt around the city" project. The eco-belt is intended to be a local recreation area and a visible boundary to the city's buildings. The row of trees for lovers is now over 400 meters long. More than 100 lime trees grow there and invite you to take a walk and linger in nature. In the summer months, Pilates classes are held under the lime trees.
The exposed trees are all lime trees, which, in keeping with the name of the avenue, are a symbol of love. The legendary trees can live for up to a thousand years and are a long-lasting and symbolic gift for weddings, birthdays or other occasions.
In May 2024, a peace circle was added to the avenue of love at the northern end. As a memorial to peace, the pavilion primarily serves as a weatherproof source of shade in the popular avenue.
Liebesallee with the peace pavilion is located in the west of the city. You can reach the Liebesallee with Peace Pavilion by driving along Pater Helde-Straße to the WIFI/Haus der Wirtschaft and parking there (preferably in the large WIFI parking lot).
