Scenic lookout

Description

The Wilfersdorf Way of the Cross, or Calvary, was donated by Prince Hartmann von Liechtenstein and his wife Elisabeth Sidonia in 1674. They were the parents of 24 children and made it possible for the family to survive to this day. The stone figures are made of Zogelsdorf stone. The sculptor was Ferdinand Pfaundler from Tyrol, who also created the Falkenstein Stations of the Cross. The Palm Sunday procession on the Holy Mountain has been a tradition in the village community since 1979.
The Way of the Cross follows the five mysteries of the Sorrowful Rosary.
1st station: Mount of Olives group (who sweated blood for us)
2nd station: Flagellation
3rd station: Crowning with thorns
4th station: Jesus under the cross
5th station: Crucifixion
