The Thaya Valley National Park, in cooperation with the Czech Národní park Podyjí, protects one of the most beautiful, romantic and species-rich valley landscapes. The Thaya Valley National Park preserves one of the last near-natural valley landscapes in Central Europe. The Thaya has created habitats and forest types with a surprising diversity in a very small area. Over 40% of all plant species occurring in the region and a large number of endangered animal species such as the European wildcat, the black stork and the noble crayfish are at home here.
