Herrnbaumgarten

Description

Herrnbaumgarten in the district of Mistelbach presents itself as a typically idyllic wine-growing community. Vineyards and wine cellar lanes as well as a fish pond and the surrounding forests characterize the townscape. Today's market town was first mentioned in a document in 1056. However, the area was already inhabited long before that - as evidenced by valuable excavations from the Bronze Age and later Stone Age.

As well as relaxing walks and enjoyable hikes - perhaps along the 3 Sisters' Path from Poysdorf via Falkenstein to Herrnbaumgarten, which offers great views - cyclists are also very welcome, with several well-marked cycle paths.

Herrnbaumgarten: celebrate festivals, discover nonsense and go on a kitchen journey through time

Herrnbaumgarten likes to celebrate colorful festivals - such as the popular Schindergassenfest, which always takes place on the 2nd weekend in June. There are also great museums for adults and young visitors to explore: The Nonseum, the only one of its kind in the world, displays epochally useless inventions that mankind doesn't need: from roll-out zebra stripes to beginners' puzzles made of two pieces. These exhibits of a different kind are of course great fun, especially for children.

Nostalgic hearts are guaranteed to beat faster on a trip to the First Austrian Kitchen and Grocery Museum: the enchanting kitchen history leads through numerous fully furnished kitchens from the period between 1900 and 1970. The "mixed goods store" with original inventory from 1877 also awaits.
