Description

The small wine cellar lane in Haugsdorf is largely built on one side and has retained its original charm with its predominantly cobbled floor. It extends to the north through a moderately ascending hollow way. Under the steep slopes, it was easier to dig wine cellars deep enough to ensure a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees all year round. The temperature was ideal for the wine stored in barrels and the winegrowers could also sit together quite comfortably in winter.

The unmistakable charm of the Weinviertel wine cellar lanes can be experienced most impressively on a guided tour.
This provides fascinating insights into their history and the former significance of these special places.
