The Velm-Götzendorf wine cellar lane is more than just a collection of wine cellars. It is an underground city where wine is at home. The entire mountain consists of loess and is home to 137 press houses or cellars, which are arranged in four terraces. A third of these cellars are run on a full-time or part-time basis. Due to the terraced arrangement, there are often up to four cellar vaults on top of each other, whereby the height distance to the vault below is usually five to eight meters and the lateral distance to the next cellar is often only one meter. Some of the cellars are interconnected, which makes it possible to walk in circles. If all the cellars in Velm-Götzendorf were to be linked together, the total length would be an impressive six kilometers.

The unmistakable charm of the Weinviertel wine cellar lanes can be experienced most impressively on a guided tour.
This provides fascinating insights into their history and the former significance of these special places.
