Weingut Schöfmann & Schöfmann

Two siblings - two origins. Anna and Laurenz Schöfmann grew up in Retz and Haugsdorf. The young Schöfmann & Schöfmann winery combines the cool style of the Retz vineyards with the red wine island of Haugsdorf. The result: a straightforward Grüne Veltliner and a fruity red wine cuvée as the two debut wines.

Both wines are produced in Grandpa's old press house in the Haugsdorfer Kellertrift and mature there in the old cellar tube - just as wine was made back then. No frills, handcrafted, spontaneously fermented. The two of them learned about winemaking and different styles in the wine world during their internships and apprenticeships. Laurenz attended the Klosterneuburg School of Viticulture and was then able to take a look behind the scenes at well-known wineries, while Anna studied International Wine Business.

Both worked in the family winery, and in 2020 their grandfather gave the siblings the press house in the wine cellar lane. So why not start something of their own? In 2022, the first two wines were presented and the young sibling winery was founded.
