The Haindl-Erlacher winery, located in Wolkersdorf in the Weinviertel, just 10 km north of Vienna, is a typical representative of the Weinviertel. It is run by Romana and Walter Erlacher, a former Austrian wine queen and an ambitious career changer from Styria. With over 16 hectares of vineyards, which are cultivated in a natural and sustainable way, Grüne Veltliner is the main variety. The wines are characterized by their fruitiness, lively freshness and elegance and skillfully reflect the typicality of the Weinviertel region and the respective vintage. Sustainability and hospitality are not just empty words here, but are actually practiced. This is reflected in a respectful approach to nature, great appreciation for people, animals, soil and plants, as well as diversity, care, high-quality craftsmanship and time. The wines of the Haindl-Erlacher winery leave an impression and have already received many awards, including the 2009 regional winner, SALON Austria awards and the award for best winery in Lower Austria.
