Weingut Haas

Description

The Haas winery is located in Unterretzbach, in the western Weinviertel, north of Vienna and right on the Czech border. Unterretzbach is surrounded by a varied hilly landscape in which the vineyards thrive magnificently. The winery is run by the fourth generation of winegrowers and cellar master Stefan Haas. The vineyards of the Haas winery are situated in the best locations and are exclusively south, south-west or south-east facing slopes. The cultivation is as natural as possible, with organic fertilizers and plant protection methods that are gentle on beneficial insects. High grape quality is achieved through intensive foliage work and yield reduction. The soil and climate are further important factors for the production of good grapes. The vineyards are planted on loess, sandy loam, brown earth and primary rock soils. The climate in this region is characterized by the microclimate of the Retzerkessel, which is characterized by hot summers and mild winters.
