Fallbach

Description

The municipality of Fallbach is located in the northern Weinviertel region around Laa and consists of five cadastral municipalities:

Fallbach, Friebritz, Hagenberg, Loosdorf and Hagendorf.

The large municipality of Fallbach currently has 1047 main and secondary residents.

In addition to the very active club life (football, tennis, beautification clubs, parish, fire department, theater, music club and much more), the municipality of Fallbach has a day care facility and its own elementary school. There is a community doctor, a physiotherapist and of course the community inn "Winkelauer Hof", where parties can be celebrated in a quiet location with an adjacent playground.

Places to visit in the municipality of Fallbach:

Fallbach lies on the edge of the Laa basin, at the transition from the Laa plain to the gentle, typical Weinviertel hills. The parish church of Fallbach, which has already celebrated its 850th anniversary, can be seen from afar. Also worth mentioning is the beautifully preserved wine cellar lane, where a visit to the Uhl family's Heurigen3 is possible in season.

In Friebritz, a double circular ditch can be visited. It bears witness to the fact that our region has been inhabited for thousands of years. In recent years, the inhabitants of the small cadastral community have turned the village of Friebritz into a jewel and have won several prizes in the "Blühendes Niederösterreich" competition.

After a steep climb, you reach Hagenberg. The village is known for its unique village square. There is a drinking fountain with a small rest area on the village square. A short visit to Hagenberg Castle is recommended. The "Hagenberger Weitblick" observation tower is well worth a visit. There you can enjoy the view over the Laa basin and the view of the Leiser mountains and the Zaya valley.

Loosdorf lies at the beginning of the hill country. It is known for its public art. Various sculptures can be viewed on a walk around or in the village. A unique collection of pewter figures can be admired in Loosdorf Castle. In addition to a restaurant, the Winkelauer Hof and the Hummel organic berry garden, there is also a campsite. A hike to the "Hanslburg" is recommended for nature lovers.

Hagendorf is easy to reach, especially by bike from Laa an der Thaya. There are two museums in Hagendorf. The village museum, where you can learn more about rural history, and the woodturning museum, where you can learn interesting facts about the woodturning trade. Guided tours are available by appointment. Before you leave Hagendorf, you should definitely stop by the Schenkausberg with its cellars or the sports field for an interesting soccer match.
