Cycle through the rolling countryside, passing fields and meadows. Enjoy the many picturesque wine cellar lanes and wander through idyllic vineyards. At Heldenberg, you’ll experience history, culture, and excitement.

The starting point of the “Rivaner” Wine Cycle Route is the town of Hollabrunn, home to the “Alte Hofmühle” museum. From here, the route takes you to a highlight of art history: the “Stone Bible” in the parish church of Schöngrabern. You’ll then continue cycling via Obergraben to Sitzendorf an der Schmida. Here, you can soak up the atmosphere of the cellar district and explore the historic town center, with its impressive architecture ranging from Gothic to Art Nouveau. The tour then continues to Frauendorf, where you can take the “Frauendorfer Weinbergtour” walking trail to wander through particularly beautiful wine cellar lanes and vineyards.

As you continue your bike tour, you’ll ride through the charming Schmida Valley and, via Hollenstein and Gettsdorf, reach Ziersdorf, where you can experience the craftsmanship up close at demonstration workshops—a cooperage and a blacksmith’s forge. A detour to the “Köhlbergweg Nature Trail” is also recommended. Via Rohrbach, the route continues to a Top Excursion Destination near this bike route—the Heldenberg near Kleinwetzdorf. The Heldenberg combines history, culture, and excitement. You can visit the impressive Radetzky Memorial or learn about the mystical circular ditches, which were created several thousand years ago. After this foray into archaeology, you’ll continue via Breitenwaida to Raschala. Here, a guided tour offers you a glimpse into the romantic “Pinkelstein wine cellar lane.” Afterward, you’ll cycle back to the starting point in Hollabrunn.
