Please be sure to bring plenty of drinks with you; the inns and restaurants aren't open every day, and many Heurigen establishments don't open until the afternoon.

The tour begins at the train station in Guntersdorf, home to a Renaissance castle featuring a variety of cultural influences, which can be rented for celebrations. The route continues through Windpassing to Schöngrabern, where you can admire a highlight of art history—the“stone Bible” in the parish church. In Wullersdorf, you can refill your water bottle at the drinking fountain located near the chapel.

From there, the route continues via Kalladorf and Immendorf to Nappersdorf, where you’ll have the opportunity to take a detour through the charming cluster of cellar lanes featuring unusually large wine press houses.

You’ll now cycle north toward Mailberg. Here, in addition to the idyllic wine-growing landscape, the Schlosshotel Mailberg is sure to impress. Several wine cellar lanes also await your visit, housing the winemakers’ varietal-specific wines in their well-maintained wine press houses and cellars.

The tour then takes you through the charming Pulkau Valley, surrounded by picturesque vineyards. From Obritz, the route continues to Hadres, where you can explore the Weinviertel’s longest wine cellar lane, featuring around 400 wine press houses and cellars. You can also visit a showroom featuring old winemaking tools. The tour continues through Haugsdorf, following in the footsteps of Alfred Komarek’s crime novel hero, Inspector Polt, and on through Peigarten—home to the Bee Museum—to Pernersdorf. Numerous wine cellar lanes and cozy wine taverns line this route, inviting you to linger and enjoy delicious local delicacies.
