From the impressive Jedenspeigen Castle, you’ll hike uphill along the romantic Kellerberg and through the vineyards. A beautiful view of the typical Weinviertel landscape awaits you.
After the climb, the trail leads to the Papstkapelle, which offers a unique panoramic view stretching from the battlefield of Central Europe’s largest knightly battle all the way to the Little Carpathians in Slovakia.
Passing the EVN water reservoir and the World War II bunker, turn right into the village, where the Kellerberg of Sierndorf/March begins on your left.
Passing the large wine bottle and the church, the trail leads to the Bründl Chapel. After a short rest, the trail continues through the village to the local history museum in Sierndorf.
You’ll then walk past the retention basin and continue along the vineyards and above the federal highway back toward Jedenspeigen.
Passing the Winzerpark, you’ll reach Jedenspeigen Castle once again.
Parking is available at the parking lot near Jedenspeigen Castle or in the town center near the municipal office.
Coming from Vienna, take Federal Highway B8 toward Gänserndorf. Drive to Angern/March (just before the Slovakian border) and there, take Highway B49, which will take you directly to Jedenspeig.
You can reach Jedenspeigen by train from Vienna. The trip takes about 45 minutes. Take the train toward Breclav.
