The trail begins in the cadastral municipality of Lanzendorf and runs along the Zaya River toward Paasdorf. Walking along Weidengasse and the old Postweg, you’ll pass the Taschlbach stream and the sports field, and then reach the village of Paasdorf via the children’s playground located in Josef Brünner Park.
The children’s playground features a “snack trail” with numerous berry bushes that invite you to snack on the fruit. Children can let off steam while playing at various stations here. Browse through the books in the book box, or make yourself comfortable on the reading bench. A drinking fountain is perfect for refilling water bottles on hot summer days. A public restroom is located next to the playground.
After visiting the adjacent church, head back toward the main street. One of the sights is the Baroque rectory. Continue on to the Gartner country inn, where regional home-style cooking is served alongside fine beers and select wines.
After a stop at the 24/7 open-air library, located beneath the “Wolkon” bus stop, the hitchhiking bench is a convenient spot for tired hikers to catch a ride back.
You’ll now turn onto Schlosszeile. Here, hikers have two more places to stop for refreshments: at the Seltenhammer family’s or the Schubert family’s, where you can enjoy homemade delicacies, fine wines, and juices. The items in the self-service refrigerators, which are open 24 hours a day, can also be taken along on the hike.
The trail leads back toward Lanzendorf via Kirschenallee. Those interested in culture can take a detour to the Paasdorf cultural landscape and hunt for treasures via geocaching.
On the way back, at the Ecce Homo Cross, take one last break in the shade before returning to the starting point in Lanzendorf via the gently rolling hills of the Weinviertel. By the end of the hike, you’ll have covered 8 km/11,3440 steps.

Coming from Vienna, turn left after the Weinlandbad and use the parking lots at the Weinlandbad and the sports center; turn onto Mittelweg Zayawiesen toward Paasdorf on the EUROVELO route—which also includes the “Tut gut Schritteweg” trail—and walk to the starting sign.
