The approximately 7.2-kilometre trail in Ebendorf is a circular route that starts at the "Maria unter den Linden" chapel in Schulgasse and leads across the adjacent fields and along the Zaya river. On this hiking tour, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the area from Josefsberg as well as many sights worth seeing, from the cherry avenue to wayside shrines and monuments, beavers in the Zaya area and a 250-year-old oak tree, before returning to the starting point via a hollow path.
Visitors set out from the chapel onto Lehargasse, reach the “Urbanmarterl” with its beautiful view of the surrounding area, and continue on through Kirschenallee over the Neuriß Bridge to “Josefsberg,” the highest point in Ebendorf. Hikers reach the bridge over the bypass and, with a little luck, can spot some of the shy animals at the “Rehblick.”
The trail then leads along the main street into Edelgraben. At the bridge over the Zaya, a slightly shadier section begins, which, after another pedestrian bridge, leads into Rohrmühlgasse. The trail continues into Bründlgasse. After just under two hours, you’ll reach the starting point again via Lehargasse. By the end of the hike, you’ll have covered 10,290 steps.
