Description

Starting at the train station in Marchegg, the cycle tour begins in a northerly direction to Marchegg Castle. From there, head east, crossing the Morava Bridge into Slovakia. There you cycle along the Iron Curtain Trail (EV13) and cross the Morava back into Austria at Devinska Nova Ves. You then ride directly past Schloss Hof and continue in a southerly direction. After approx. 10 km on the KTM cycle path, you pass the small romantic castle of Niederweiden. The journey continues to Engelhartstetten where the southern loop meets. You continue in a westerly direction through Loimersdorf and Kopfstetten and then reach Eckartsau Castle with its beautiful gardens. From there, continue in a southerly direction until you reach the Danube cycle path (EV6). Continue along this in an easterly direction to Stopfenreuth, where you turn north again to Engelhartstetten. From there, take the same route back to Marchegg railroad station.

Route description The route starts at Marchegg station and initially leads to Schloss Marchegg. From there, it goes over the VysoMarch cycle bridge into Slovakia and along the Iron Curtain Trail (EuroVelo 13) through the idyllic March meadows to the Freedom Cycle Bridge at Devínská Nová Ves. Back in Austria, the route runs past the foot of Schloss Hof and Schloss Niederweiden and continues via Engelhartstetten, Loimersdorf, and Kopfstetten to Schloss Eckartsau. Then the path leads over the Danube cycle path (EuroVelo 6) through the Danube-Auen National Park to Stopfenreuth. From there, it goes back via the Kamp-Thaya-March cycle path to Engelhartstetten and directly past Schloss Hof. The route finally ends again in Marchegg.

Getting there Coming from Vienna Donaustadt on the B3 towards Orth up to Eckartsau.From Vienna Donaustadt on the B8 towards Gänserndorf and then on the B49 towards Marchegg.On the A4 to Fischamend, then continuing on the B9 at Hainburg over the Danube Bridge towards Marchegg.
