Description

The full-day tour is very varied, with vineyards and fields lining the route. It passes romantic wine cellar lanes, beautiful viewpoints, historic squares and idyllic Weinviertel villages. There is no need for opening times and reservations in this beautiful landscape: simply stop, pause and feel the serenity of the Weinviertel region. It's good for you and gives you strength for the journey ahead.

Along the tour, you pass five wine cellar lanes. A guided tour of the cellar lanes is a great way to discover the inside of the countless, widely ramified cellar tunnels. Trained cellar alley guides in Pillersdorf and Zellerndorf provide insights into the history of winegrowing and are happy to invite you for a sip of wine.

The most impressive of the wine cellars, however, is the Retzer Erlebniskeller. With its fantastic labyrinth adventure, it conceals numerous myths in its 20 km of tunnels. Guided tours take place all year round.

In addition to the landmark of Retz, Austria's only operational windmill , you should also pay a visit to the cult site at the Holy Stone in Mitterretzbach. From May to September, a small, fine Buschenschank (typical tavern) is also run here at weekends.
