Jakobsweg Weinviertel - Zubringer Asparn/Zaya

At the end of the village of Hüttendorf, the Way of St. James turns left at the wayside shrine/rest area onto the path “Zum Hillersberg.” The Way of St. James would continue straight ahead, but you should turn right at the next opportunity and hike along the “Weinradweg Sylvaner” bike path (orange signs) all the way to Asparn/Zaya. After a few meters, you’ll reach the underpass beneath the heavily trafficked Mistelbach bypass. Immediately after that, the bike path turns sharply to the left. You’ll now walk a short distance along the service road parallel to this bypass until the route continues to the right. From here, continue straight ahead, following the bike path signs, all the way to Asparn/Zaya. At the entrance to the town, you’ll pass the former train station, where the Weinviertel Draisinen are now stationed. At the intersection with the main road, turn right and walk along the road into the town center. There you’ll find the Hans family’s guest rooms, “Zum Alten Rathaus.”

To return to the Way of St. James, walk south from the Hans guesthouse and leave the village via the wine cellar lane. There is a trail alongside the road at almost every point. Before you reach the next village, Garmanns, turn right to rejoin the Weinviertel Way of St. James.
