Description

Cycle route 5 starts at the Czech border in the spa town of Laa an der Thaya and heads south. Passing Loosdorf Castle, the route continues to Asparn an der Zaya past MAMUZ Schloss Asparn in the direction of Mistelbach. The route continues via Gaweinstal to Bad Pirawarth and Großschweinbarth. In terms of landscape, the route now leaves the typical vineyard topography and reaches the area around Schönkirchen and Gänserndorf in the southern Weinviertel, which is characterized by oil and gas production. Passing the Gänserndorf adventure park, the route dips into the Marchfeld towards Leopoldsdorf. From there, the route runs along the steam cycle path through Breitstetten and joins the Danube cycle path EV6 in Orth an der Donau.
