Description

The wine experience tour is so beautiful because it touches the Waldviertel and shows the difference between the wide fields of the northern part and the wine landscape in the southern part. The Manharsberg is actually considered a "mountain" in this region because it is the highest elevation far and wide. It is popularly said that it is always "one Janker colder" above the Manharsberg.

An entertaining program awaits in the surrounding area: whether wine cellar lane tours in the Marktweg cellar lane in Röschitz or the Bründl in Pulkau, where the water of the same name has its source.

Many places offer interesting insights into the historical winegrowing culture of this region. The multi-award-winning Veltliner stronghold of Röschitz and the village of Schrattenthal - the smallest wine town in Austria - impress with their excellent wines and are a must-see for all visitors.

The best place to enjoy the view is from the Europawarte in Waitzendorf, which offers an excellent view over the entire Retzer Land and into the Waldviertel.

The BIKE ROUTE RECOMMENDATION WEINERLEBNISTOUR RETZER LAND NORTH is not signposted as such but a connecting route of several signposted bike paths. The route is almost continuously asphalted and mainly runs along quiet paths and streets with only few inclines.

In the Weinviertel, there are over 100 bike-friendly businesses that especially cater to the needs of cyclists.
