Castle, Historical sites, Museum

Description

The castle was first mentioned in 1416 as "Feste Lostorff" and Johann Prince of Liechtenstein had the castle "modernized" in the classicist style to give it its present form.
The house has been owned by the Piatti family since 1834.
The Loosdorf Castle Museum is a small, precious museum of a very special kind, in which destruction and beauty come together in reconciliation.
The museum is structured as a sequence of individually staged room installations.
The rooms were remodeled in such a way that the castle's established structures and historical references are in harmony with the necessary changes.
Library with a view of the French park.
Classicist state rooms with furniture and rare wall paintings.
Shard room with fragments of a once famous porcelain collection.
