Weingut Leopold Maurer

The Leopold Maurer winery, deeply rooted in the Weinviertel and run by the family of the same name from Röschitz, is known for its excellent Grüne Veltliner. This thrives particularly well in the vineyards on the Manhartsberg, typical of the Weinviertel. The Maurer family's knowledge of winemaking is passed down from generation to generation. Particularly noteworthy is the Weinviertel's flagship variety, the Grüne Veltliner, in which the winery specializes. The vineyards are located in the best sites on primary rock and loess soils, which produce particularly fruity and mineral wines. The variety of vineyards and wines shows that the Weinviertel is not only one of the most beautiful regions in Austria, but also offers an optimal basis for the vinification of excellent wines. The high quality of the wines is confirmed by customer satisfaction as well as national and international awards. These include the title of regional winner, the ORF Radio Wine of the Year award, nominations in the 'SALON' and a gold medal in Bordeaux.
