The willow playground is located along the Thernbachgraben on the path between Unterthern and Oberthern. Embedded in the willow crops, vineyards and fields, the natural play area is one of the most lovingly designed leisure oases in the Schmidatal Landscape Park in the municipality of Heldenberg.
With a natural pond, a pavilion and a play tower, children have plenty of opportunities to run around and explore. The willow hill offers willow hideaways to play in and a young orchard invites children to snack. Children are immersed in a mixture of nature, creativity and exercise. From crafting with willows and climbing to discovering nature and the surrounding area.
Connection to hiking trails and cycle paths
- Lisa's puzzle trail: an approximately 3.5 km long themed circular trail from Unterthern with puzzle stations - ideal for families with children!
- "Tut gut" steps trail Heldenberg (route 1): A short, approximately 3.5km long walking and health route, which is also part of the municipality's wine hiking trail network.
- Wetzdorf wine trail: the approximately 6 to 7 km long hiking trail leads past "Schober's Weinbrunnen" and the bison enclosure, among other places.
- Rivaner Cycle Path: From the Weidenspielplatz, you can also turn onto the supra-regional Rivaner Cycle Path, which leads to the Lower Austrian Top Excursion Destinations on the Heldenberg near Kleinwetzdorf - ideal for a combined hiking or cycling tour in the area around the Heldenberg.
