Situated on the Way of St. James in the Weinviertel, the pilgrimage church of the Holy Trinity in Karnabrunn, visible from afar, inspires spiritual journeys and inner contemplation.

In the middle of the Karnabrunn forest, the parish and pilgrimage church of Karnabrunn is enthroned on a hill - more precisely, on the top of the Stainmeißelberg. It is believed that a castle once stood in its place. It is dedicated to the Most Holy Trinity.

A completely renovated staircase - flanked by six historical stone statues - leads over 200 meters up to the church. This makes the baroque staircase the longest of its kind in the whole of Lower Austria. Extensive renovations around 2010 led to the redesign of the chancel. In the course of this, the crypt was also uncovered and opened. Several coffins were discovered in it, some of which had unfortunately been destroyed.

The origins of the church can be traced back to Count Julius Bucceleni - once the lord of the manor in Karnabrunn. In 1679, the year of the plague, he is said to have vowed to build a church if his family and the villagers were spared. He actually had the church built between 1684 and 1686. In the year of its completion, the church was consecrated to the Most Holy Trinity by the then Archbishop of Vienna.

Today, pilgrims and visitors can discover sights from several eras - such as the magnificent high altarpiece from 1782, the marble folk altar from 2010, several valuable statues of saints from the 19th century - or the organ, which was built in 1753 and rebuilt in 1780.
