The Brunnstube in the Maissau castle forest is a historical monument with romantic charm. It was built in 1788 on the occasion of the engagement of Count Johann Adam II von Abensperg und Traun and his bride Countess Marie Leopoldine von Althann and was originally used to supply water to Maissau Castle and the vicarage. Today it is a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers.

It is located on the forest nature trail, which begins directly behind Maissau Castle. The path leads through a beautiful mixed forest in which various trees are marked by name. There are also other historical elements to discover along the path, such as obelisks and stone vases.

The Brunnstube itself is a small but impressive building with a stone archway adorned with two coats of arms (Abensperg and Traun & Althann). Next to the Brunnstube is a magnificent stone vase from the Baroque garden, which was made around 1700. It is freely accessible at all times and is ideal for a short hike or a relaxing walk in the forest. Visitors can enjoy the historical atmosphere and experience nature at the same time.
