The historic Schlosshotel Mailberg, surrounded by vineyards and a moat, is located in the picturesque wine village of Mailberg in the Pulkau Valley. Originally built in the 11th century by the Knights of Chadolt, the castle has been owned by the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta since 1146. For centuries, it served travelers and pilgrims as a sheltered place of food and hospitality.
In keeping with the Maltese tradition, the castle now houses 21 lovingly renovated guest rooms with modern furnishings. The architecture of the refuge combines medieval and baroque elements with contemporary functionality. Guests can follow in the footsteps of knightly history, explore the Pulkau Valley by bike or taste regional wines in the castle wine cellar.
