Ulrichskirchen-Schleinbach
Description
The market town of Ulrichskirchen-Schleinbach consists of the cadastral municipalities of Kronberg, Schleinbach and Ulrichskirchen. The municipality covers a total area of 26.5 km², almost 27% of which is forested. The forest is mostly mixed forest and is easily accessible thanks to the many marked hiking trails. Characteristic of our surroundings are the many vineyards and our idyllic wine cellar lanes, where traditional festivals are held every year.
Our clubs cultivate and enliven our village life with a variety of other events, and thanks to the location of Ulrichskirchen and Schleinbach on the S2 high-speed railroad, many visitors from outside the area also enjoy coming to us.
You can find all the dates of our events on our homepage.
The art and culture of the Weinviertel wine cellar lanes has its origins in the Himmelkeller in Kronberg.
The artist Prof. Hermann Bauch saw the progressive destruction of the old wine cellar lanes very early on and began to buy up cellars worthy of protection, including equipment, and to renovate them artistically.
Through his work as a painter and graphic artist, he captured the wine cellar lanes and thus precious cultural assets in the form of drawings and etchings. Numerous mosaic and glass works of art have been produced in the art workshop, which are known far beyond the borders of the Weinviertel.
Since the artist's death, his son Hannes Bauch has continued this work of art as a museum and exhibition space.
Not only guided tours of the museum and the impressive cellar labyrinth take place here, but also cultural events and exhibitions. There are also guided tours through the wine cellar lane "Rund um den Kreuzberg" by certified wine cellar lane guides, followed by a wine tasting. You can find more information about this museum under the Excursion destinations "Himmelkeller-Hermann Bauch Museum".
