Matzen-Raggendorf

Description

With the districts of Raggendorf and Klein Harras, Matzen lies on the border between the Weinviertel hills and the Marchfeld in Lower Austria, approx. 35 km east of Vienna. Leisurely cycling through gently undulating wine country, lingering in rustic wine cellar lanes, immersing yourself in the mysterious world of the wine cellars and relaxing with a glass of wine are just some of the possibilities. Well-maintained paths on the slopes of the Matzner Wald forest, with magnificent views from the "Karpatenblick" to the wide plain of the Marchfeld, invite you to take easy hikes. Loess soils, a sunny location and a mild climate form the basis for successful viticulture. The quality wines with the designation "Matzner Hügel" have won international awards.

Leisure facilities:

The Matzen artificial ice rink is "ice-safe" from the end of October to the beginning of March. The extensive offer, especially for families, with penguins and bears for small children, curling, ice hockey and the buffet make winter the sporting highlight of the year.

Skate rental and sharpening is also part of the service. A sumptuous buffet is available for refreshments. Enjoy wonderful days with your family at the Matzen artificial ice rink.

If the sporting activity on the ice is too cold for you, you can visit the adjacent indoor swimming pool. The sports pool and the adjoining sauna invite you to enjoy healthy leisure activities from Thursday to Saturday.

The Waldbad Matzen offers recreation and relaxation for the whole family throughout the summer. Adjacent to the Matzner forest, below the castle, you will find the swimming pool with its own children's area, changing rooms, sunbathing lawn, toddler water slide and buffet.

Events of national importance:
