Gaweinstal
Description
Welcome to Gaweinstal!
The market town of Gaweinstal is located in the hilly region of the Weinviertel in Lower Austria - around 25 km north-east of Vienna - and is easily accessible via the newly opened A5 and the B7. Together with the cadastral communities of Gaweinstal, Atzelsdorf, Höbersbrunn, Martinsdorf, Pellendorf and Schrick, Gaweinstal covers a total area of 52 square kilometers and has more than 4,500 inhabitants, including second homes. The village, which lies at an altitude of 199 m above sea level, was founded towards the end of the early Middle Ages (around 1050) and is therefore one of the oldest villages in the Weinviertel.
Extensive vineyards characterize the landscape of our beautiful community. We would like to invite you to enjoy the wonderful wines of our winegrowers and let yourself be spoiled by our varied gastronomy!
In addition to numerous clubs, our municipality also offers the opportunity to keep fit through sport. Cycling and hiking trails can be found on the municipal map (available from the Citizens' Service Office).
