Staatz

A steeply rising limestone cliff in the middle of gently rolling hills, formed at the birth of the Alps, is the landmark of Staatz: the Staatzer Berg. It is crowned by a mighty ruin. It still bears witness to Staatz's important 1000-year history. At its feet lies the tranquil market, where culture and nature meet harmoniously. In the midst of idyllic vineyards, many a good drop of wine matures in the cellars. The Staatz winegrowers' harvest can also be tasted in the historic castle cellar. The gentle landscape around Staatz can be conquered on the hiking and Nordic walking trails, or on the bridle paths and carriage rides. Herbal tours explain the healing treasures along the way. They take place every third Sunday of the month from May to October at 3 pm. The meeting point is at the municipal office.

There are guided hikes to the ruins and the "Betty Bernstein" children's tours bring the world of knights to life for children during a "tournament at the castle".
