Discover the spirit of pilgrimage on a historic route leading from Drasenhofen to Krems. The Weinviertel Way of St James invites you to walk for around 153 km, in harmony with nature and entirely at your own pace. Surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards and idyllic wine cellar lanes, it’s easy to leave everyday life behind and recharge your batteries.

Accompanied by the tranquillity of nature, a journey of self-discovery awaits. You’ll gain new perspectives, and with every step, a sense of calm and serenity will take hold.

Romea Strata

The Weinviertel Way of St James forms part of the European cultural route, the Romea Strata, which stretches from the Baltic Sea to Rome. The Romea Strata is a network of historic routes that once led travellers from north-eastern and central Europe to Rome. It crosses several countries – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Italy – and connects the Baltic Sea with the heart of Italy via centuries-old paths. In the Weinviertel, the Romea Strata runs from Mikulov to Stockerau, following the Weinviertel Way of St James.
